What it does: InstantCrypt is an Encryption Program for text and files, using the PGP standard. It connects easily to your previously installed e-mail/Web Mail. Target user: For those with no or only Little knowledge of encryption; for those who occasionally, but not always, want or need to exchange confidential e-mails; or for those who just want to give encryption a try. (If you have an encryption program of the PGP standard, but your e-mail counterpart does not, ask them to get InstantCrypt.) Distinguishing features: A highly intuitive, self-explanatory interface that resembles your e-mail. A good help system and demo videos that help you get started. (The help system includes background information on encryption theory in case you are interested). Minimal installation, configuration, or learning requirements. Technical background: InstantCrypt’s encryption engine is GPG; it uses the PGP standard. Thus, InstantCrypt can exchange messages with other programs using the PGP standard, e.g. PGP of the PGP Corp. and all other programs based on PGP or GPG as encryption engine. (However, InstantCrypt cannot write/send messages in the PGP/MIME standard.) Key management abilities: Create, import, export, and delete PGP encryption keys. Sign keys.
